Zedonk

Have you ever met a zedonk?  No, it's not a Dr. Seuss character.  It's half zebra, half donkey, and I gotta say, pretty darn adorable.  It was such a nice cool, sunny day last Saturday, we decided to pack up the kids and check out the Chestatee Wildlife Preserve in Dahlonega, GA.  It is a rescue, and exotic wildlife preserve.  Though they had some interesting animals, large cats, bears, cows, donkeys, zebras, camels, elk, a zedonk, lemurs, etc., the kids were much more interested in the rather cheesy and beat-up play equipment.  But, they had fun, and that's what it's really all about.  Drew and Ollie did get the opportunity to pet a snake and an alligator, and I got to pet the two hump wump (camel).

Since we were already up that way, and we're head-long into pumpkin season, we stopped at Kinsey Family Farm to pick out our pumpkins and catch a hay ride.  Last year we found Kinsey Farm on a whim when we drove by a sign on the highway that read "PUMPKINS".  It is actually a christmas tree farm and nursery, but they sell pumpkins and pumpkin treats in October.  Drew picked out his pumpkin first, it was just big enough, but not so big that he couldn't pick it up.  Mom found Ollie a tiny baby pumpkin he could hold onto.  But, when Drew saw Ollie's tiny baby pumpkin, he wanted one too, so Drew scored two pumpkins in the end.  I found one perfect for carving.

By the time we got home, we had two exhausted boys on our hands.  It was a full day.
