Movie Night

Sometimes a still photograph just doesn't capture the moment. That's when it's nice to have a video camera on hand. Sometimes it's hard though to capture that perfect moment, because you don't quite know when its going to happen until it's happening, and by the time you realize you ought to be videoing this, it's over. But, on the other hand, sometimes you get lucky, the camera is near by, and the battery is charged. I happen to have a small glut of videos on my hands that I've just gotten around to editing recently. There is no real theme here, just enjoy.

In this video, Drew is singing his ABCs. We are lucky to have captured this moment on video. He typically goes silent once he realizes someone is listening. Drew's vocabulary is really starting to blossom and this is just a small example. We can't always understand him, but he does have a lot to say these days.

This one is from Ollie's birthday party a couple weeks ago. It's a tad long (~7.5 minutes including cake and presents), but worth the showing. We showed you photographs earlier. You tell me which is worth a thousand words. Pay close attention to Uncle Chris' commentary in the background.

This is Act II of Ollie's Birthday Party. Ollie is doing excellent learning to walk. We think it might be any day now. He can actually balance himself up for several seconds. Drew and Smyth had a ball squirting Seth, and Seth had a ball getting squirted.

Last weekend, we were really on the ball, and were able to get a hike in Saturday Morning at Sweetwater Creek State Park. I'll try to post more pictures of the day later, but for now enjoy watching the Path Finder blaze our trail.

Here is a blast from the past (1 year ago). When Ollie was born, I asked all the people who visited him in the Hospital to provide him with some small tidbit of wisdom. I've only now gotten to string them all together. Pay attention, there might be some useful advice in there for all of us. I did something similar for Drew, except I asked all his visitors to sing him a song. Maybe I'll get around to editing those for his wedding. Who knows.

I'm so proud of you, Drew. Not only are you good at your ABCs you are such a great singer. And where did that deep voice come from.
